What Salvation Teaches Us

Titus 2:11-13 “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”

The events taking place around us now plainly indicate that God is about to take the next steps in the prophetic calendar. Since believers are still here, however, there are some things that God expects of His children while we wait.

  1. The Salvation Available to All

In these verses, it says that God’s grace has brought salvation “to all men.” God made salvation available to all through Jesus Christ. He is the only Savior because only He provides a solution to the issue of sin. Thank God that the Blood of His Son paid all we owe – but it must be believed and received.

  1. The Sanctification God Wants

After salvation, we are told that it teaches us that we are to live a certain way. We are not to allow “ungodliness and worldly lusts” in our lives because it dishonors Him. When you come to Christ, He expects there to be repentance and faith, which means a turning away from the things you used to do and being willing to start doing what God wants.

Christian, are you getting more and more victory over sin and drawing closer to Christ? It is only possible through time in the Word, prayer, and fellowshipping regularly with other believers.

  1. The Seeking of His Appearing

Having been made new creatures in Christ, our new natures cannot love sin – even though the old nature still does. The hungering for righteousness in our hearts should make us naturally want to look forward to the time our Savior comes back and takes us Home. We, like Abraham, seek for a city to come – whose builder and maker is God.
