Christ Is the Mighty Power of God

I Corinthians 1:24,25 “But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”

When God selected a means to save mankind, He chose a method that would look foolish to the human race. People would wonder how a man dying on a Cross could save anyone else.

Some religions teach that Christ – even though they believe Him to be the Son of God – is weak. This conclusion can only be reached by those who do not know much about the Bible. The truth is far different. Christ is the Creator of all things (John 1:3) and He is the One that will judge all men one day. He needed no helper or advisor. On the Cross, He defeated Satan, sin, and death.

The above verses show that the Lord Jesus Christ is the way that God chose to demonstrate His power and save mankind. By Christ’s dying for our sin – and His resurrection – He showed to the world that God had indeed forgiven us of our sins when we believe on Him. If they were not forgiven, Jesus would be in Hell paying for them even now. The truth is that when Jesus said “It is finished,” that He meant that there was no need for any other payment for sin to be made. He paid for the sins of the entire world through all ages!

Today, He sits on the right hand of the Father. When He returns, all unbelievers and unrepentant sinners will know of His power in a different way. He will destroy them all and set up a kingdom where only righteousness dwells. Then, He will reign for 1,000 years.

Because Jesus Christ is God, there is no doubt that these things will take place just like the Bible says. Not one jot or tittle (smallest part of prophecy) will go unfulfilled.

Reader, if you do not yet know Him as Lord and Savior, make today the day that you bow the knee to Him and ask for forgiveness of your sin. Then, ask Him to be your only Savior today and direct your life.
