I John 3:2,3 “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
The day is yet to come when every believer living today will be transformed into the likeness of Christ. Most likely, this event – called the Rapture – is going to be very soon.
The verse strongly speaks of a know-so salvation, and a true believer should not doubt their salvation. The verse says: “now are we the sons of God.” Although our bodies are currently subject to pain, suffering, occasional doubts, and aging, the day is coming soon when we will never suffer them again.
When He comes for us, our world and lives will never be the same again. Although we cannot fully grasp all that it means or what Heaven is like, we will be able to fully enjoy His presence from then on.
The thing that God wants of us in the meantime is a purifying of ourselves from sin and worldliness. We should be preparing ourselves to live with a holy God Who will destroy the world’s way of living.
Only when we seek to please Him with the way we think and live can we enjoy His presence and power to serve Him as we ought.
