Galatians 1:8,9 “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
The Gospel that saves the soul of people of all ages has been set. The Apostles preached it and it has been protected through the ages. It consists of three things: the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the sins of the world and the salvation of “whosoever.”
It is the Gospel, or Good News, that saves. All who believe the Gospel and that it is sufficient by itself for salvation are saved. It is simple – the way God intended it to be.
This is the message that Paul preached. He never veered from it.
Because of the importance and power of the Gospel, the Holy Ghost – when writing the book of Galatians, gave a severe warning. He said that if anyone tries to change what saves the soul – “let him be accursed” (damned).
God means business when it comes to protecting His Gospel. It cost His Son’s life to give it to you and me. He wants to save many souls but they must have the truth to make it possible.
Woe to those cults and other religious groups that have changed God’s Good News into salvation by works! It is by free grace that we are saved – no works on our part involved!
Ephesians 2:8,9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Are you trusting in God’s grace – without works – to save your soul?
