The Bible offers many promises that God will answer prayer. He loves His children and enjoys meeting each of their needs. This relieves the stress that they might have which would distract them from serving Him.
God has promised to meet the needs of His children when they serve Him and seek to walk in righteousness. This is plainly seen in Matthew 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” It is also promised in Philippians 4:19: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
As believers, we tend to become anxious when two things occur:
- We get our eyes off of Him – like Peter walking on the water!
- We start to worry about our needs and do not take them to Him!
Anxiety and cares can be dealt with by bringing each of them to Him. He cares about you and wants to show you that He is more than capable of meeting your needs. Leaving matters in His hands relieves stress and enables you to walk in peace, according to Philippians 4:6,7: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Have you taken your burden to the Lord in prayer and left it there today?
