Psalm 42:8 “Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.”
Over and over again, the Bible reveals the need and benefit of prayer. When praying right, it certainly is not wasted time because we will find that God answers prayer.
Anything that is going to count for God and His Kingdom must be preceded by much prayer. God is more interested in His children talking to Him in prayer than we can imagine, and so prayer is both a necessity and a blessing.
As believers, we need daily prayer for many things. It is the only way to obtain what we need as we serve God. They include:
1. Confession
2. Peace of mind and heart
3. Getting needs met
4. Victory over sin
5. Guidance
6. Joy
7. Patience in trials
8. The needs of others
9. Fellowship with God.
As God meets our daily needs, we see His lovingkindness toward us. It is unfailing and He is always ready to bless His obedient children. We can sing and rejoice at night because He has been faithful in the day – and in the night.
Christian, do you have peace of mind and heart because you have met with God and committed your needs to Him today? If not, why not go to Him in prayer right now and enjoy that fellowship once again that gets sweeter as the years go by?
