Persecution and the Coming Glory

II Corinthians 4:17 “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”

When things have become a little uncomfortable for a believer, it is probably because they are doing something right. Satan attacks those who are doing something for God to tries to stop them.

The good thing about persecution is that it is temporary – just for “a moment” – when compared to eternity. If you are facing persecution of some kind for being a believer, remember that God’s grace is always sufficient. He will give times of refreshing. Spend more time in His presence in prayer and Bible reading during those occasions.

One more thing, when persecution and hardship comes, you can be sure that the glory you will receive for it when you see Him will make it all worthwhile. He will not forget your labor of love and faithfulness. All persecution increases your rewards if you stay faithful. Another reason to not quit is because others are watching you and some will follow your example – or lack of it.
