Matthew 24:6 “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”
The Lord Jesus talked about a time in the future when there would be “wars and rumours of wars.” He indicated that it would be a warning that He is coming.
Although it speaks of the Second Coming (not the rapture) in this chapter, the fact that there has been much talk of wars and threats of one or more countries planning on taking over other ones, Christians need to be looking up. Christ’s return may very well be soon.
Christian, it’s time to shake yourself out of sleep and be busy doing the Master’s work of getting the Gospel out to the lost everywhere. Evangelism certainly has been diminished because of Covid since it started. The only way to have the comfort and peace needed in these days is to stay in the Bible daily and attend church regularly.
There is a great need for prayer today for the people of Ukraine and believers there. Many of them have lost everything and Christians may have a unique opportunity to bring the Gospel to them – and help in other ways.
While many believers may be tempted to become anxious at the news, Jesus also said in the same verse that His people should “be not troubled” by it. This can only come by continuing to look to Him for grace, comfort, peace of mind, and provision. He is able to keep His own and He still rules on high – although He also said difficult times will come.
Will you continue to trust and obey Him in these last days? He is still looking for faithfulness and He will honor those who obey Him.
