Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”
It can be easy to get focused on the hardships we experience at times because we are Christians. Because those occasions can lead to discouragement and doubt, they can make some believers reevaluate whether they want to continue on in their Christian journey.
At other times, believers that you try to bless may not always not show any thankfulness to you. You may regret that you helped that person with money or services of some kind.
Of course, we do want to be wise with our time and money. We must remember that the primary focus of the reason we aim to do good works is because God wants us to. Matthew 5:16 says: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” He is good all the time to believers and unbelievers.
We must also remember that whatever the response we get from people, that God will never forget what you do. Of course, He is also looking for the right motive in what you do, and we are to give Him glory that we can benefit others – both materially and spiritually.
The Lord Jesus promised that “And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward” (Matthew 10:42). Continue to be faithful to Him – He is watching and waiting to reward you.
