Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
The very first verse of the Bible explains many things. If people would just take God at His word – starting with creation – it would settle so many questions.
- Where did we come from?
God made mankind – not evolution. It is stated many, many times in Scripture that God is the Creator of all things. He made it all. True science does not contradict the Bible.
- Genesis 5:2 “Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.”
- Isaiah 40:26 “Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.”
- Why are we here?
Again the Bible has the answer. We are here to glorify God and serve Him. In doing so, we find that He truly is good and faithful – and that He loves without limit.
- Psalm 86:9 “All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.”
- Ecclesiastes 12:13 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
- Why is our world in the mess it is in?
Genesis chapter 3 answers this question. Although the world was created perfect, sin entered through Adam and Eve and the world was cursed as a result. Death entered the world. It is not now the way God created it.
Thank God, though, that a restoration can be obtained. Each person can reestablish a relationship with God through Christ. Sin broke that relationship because we all have sinned, but being forgiven at Christ’s expense can bring the individual back into personal fellowship with God.
A troubled life often indicates that you are out of tune with God and going the wrong way. Get saved today by asking Christ to forgive you and save you. He died to give you salvation and eternal life and bring you back into fellowship with God.
One day, Christ will bring the entire world back into the condition it was in before sin entered. If you are not saved, however, you will not have a part in it.
