worry – Bible Truth for Today https://101info.org Brother Mike Valles Wed, 10 Jan 2024 20:00:13 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.7 192660109 The Daily Care of the Father https://101info.org/the-daily-care-of-the-father/ https://101info.org/the-daily-care-of-the-father/#respond Wed, 10 Jan 2024 20:00:13 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=16108 Read More »]]> Matthew 6:25,26 “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?”

These two verses reveal the Father’s ongoing love for His children. He tells us not to worry about our daily necessities because He will take care of them.

Although He does not promise that we shall have the latest fashions in clothes, He does promise to keep us in clothes. Although He does not promise we will have steak for our meals, they will be nourishing and good for us. Thank God for that. Many times have I seen God miraculously provide food for my family from sources that we did not suspect.

Believers have the unique privilege of becoming God’s own children. He immediately puts us into His family the moment we are born again (John 3:3). It reveals a distinct difference between us and the animal kingdom: “Are ye not much better than they?” They cannot become His children.

Each of us needs to remember that we have the food, clothes, and possessions we have because He is good to us. Do you have a job? Thank God for it and for those other blessings He gives us every day. They come to His faithful children because He cares.

We are not to worry about these needful things so that we can focus on doing His will and worshipping Him. If you have need of these things – He will provide. He may be waiting, though, to help you seek Him and believe His promises.

The Promise of Peace for the New Year https://101info.org/the-promise-of-peace-for-the-new-year/ https://101info.org/the-promise-of-peace-for-the-new-year/#respond Wed, 03 Jan 2024 12:30:13 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=15973 Read More »]]> Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

In our world today, the sounds of war and rumors of war certainly are increasing. New nations are rising up to join in the fight in the world’s hotspots. Truly, the world is not having peace – but the believer can.

The above verse is a promise from God. He knows how to give peace when there is none around. The peace He gives is in the heart. It is not dependent on circumstances, place, position (rank), or the prospect of a better day. His peace can calm the heart and mind so that you can think and react the way He wants you to.

Jesus promised to give a kind of peace that is not found in this world. It is a Divine peace that comes only from Him. In John 14:27, He promised: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

The text verse states that His peace is available to believers who will:

  1. Keep their thoughts on Christ
  2. Trust His promises daily.

The only way to do this is to stay much in the Word of God. Start your day with it and end your day with it. It will help you keep your mind and thoughts on Him through the day. Read one or two chapters and pray to start your day, and one chapter before you go to bed. It will make a difference if you also ask God to guide you and help you live what you read.

If you are troubled about events in the world, realize that the Lord Jesus Christ is not at all troubled by it. God’s plan is being carried out perfectly – and He can take care of you.

Someone said: “Why pray when you can worry?” Of course, you know it should be the other way around. If you are worrying about situations in your life, why not take time right now and give it to God? He knows how to guide you through it – or take care of it for you.

Thank God for Prayer Promises https://101info.org/thank-god-for-prayer-promises/ https://101info.org/thank-god-for-prayer-promises/#respond Wed, 19 Jan 2022 13:15:04 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=1889 Read More »]]> The Bible offers many promises that God will answer prayer. He loves His children and enjoys meeting each of their needs. This relieves the stress that they might have which would distract them from serving Him.

God has promised to meet the needs of His children when they serve Him and seek to walk in righteousness. This is plainly seen in Matthew 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” It is also promised in Philippians 4:19: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

As believers, we tend to become anxious when two things occur:

  1. We get our eyes off of Him – like Peter walking on the water!
  2. We start to worry about our needs and do not take them to Him!

Anxiety and cares can be dealt with by bringing each of them to Him. He cares about you and wants to show you that He is more than capable of meeting your needs. Leaving matters in His hands relieves stress and enables you to walk in peace, according to Philippians 4:6,7: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Have you taken your burden to the Lord in prayer and left it there today?
