In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Before uttering these words, Jesus had once again told His disciples that He would first suffer and then be leaving them soon. Although they were saddened by the news, they did not understand it.

In the same way, we also are sometimes saddened by news and events that occur in our lives. It could be the death of a loved one, news of cancer or some other disease, world news, etc., but the truth is that Jesus’ reply to their sadness still can help today.

He told them the things in this verse so that even when they do face tribulation or persecution, or possibly even death, that they can still have inner peace in the face of it. Even more than that, He told them that it is possible you could also “be of good cheer” in those times.

In other words, you do not need to be defeated by events or circumstances, even though there may be anguish and pain involved. God wants His born-again children to be overcomers, and He gives them the grace and power to do so. Faith in His promises enables victory.

Are you utilizing His grace and power now so that – at the end of the day – you are an overcomer? If you need to, why not admit your weakness and ask Him for help right now?

Are You Watching? https://101info.org/2025/03/12/are-you-watching/ https://101info.org/2025/03/12/are-you-watching/#respond Wed, 12 Mar 2025 11:30:00 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=54 Read More »]]> Mark 13:32, 33, 35 “But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is… (vs. 35) Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh,”

It could happen any day now. Many people are looking for “signs” of His coming – but there are none. The Bible does not give any signs for the Rapture. The signs mentioned in the Bible all point to His Second Coming, which occurs seven years after the Rapture.

What can be seen is evidence that we seem to be seeing the “shadows” of things on the horizon that point to the Tribulation. Personally, I believe the Rapture could occur any day now.

Christians need to be careful not to be looking for “signs” because it may mean you are not ready to go. Instead of looking for signs, we should just be ready to go – today! We should be actively serving Him with all  our hearts as He tells us to while we wait.

Since no one knows the day nor the hour, what is keeping you from being ready today? Are you going to church regularly, tithing, witnessing, getting victory over sin, etc.? While we are still here, we ought to be watching and praying – and seeking to take others with us when we go. Remember that your rewards in Heaven (not your salvation) depend on your faithfulness to His commands.
