stress – Bible Truth for Today https://101info.org Brother Mike Valles Thu, 12 May 2022 02:58:18 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.6.2 192660109 The Care of God for You https://101info.org/the-care-of-god-for-you/ https://101info.org/the-care-of-god-for-you/#respond Thu, 12 May 2022 12:15:26 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=2863 Read More »]]> Luke 12:6-7 “Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.”

In a world such as we live in now, it is easy to understand why some people have anxiety. The changes and uncertainty faced every day are very likely to produce concern – anxiety. For the believer, the key to overcoming that daily anxiety all depends on where you are looking for a solution.

It is true that some believers are frequently complainers and worriers. Whether they know it or not, it reveals that there is no peace or joy in their heart. They are looking at the externals of life – and anyone of us is capable of forgetting where and Who our eyes should be on!

Jesus warned that in the last days: “Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken” (Luke 21:26). Although this is a reference to the Tribulation period, the troubles being seen now are already producing similar results.

Such stress and anxiety, however, should not be overcoming for the believer. We need to continue to do like David: “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee” (Psalm 119:11). It is the Scripture and the promises of God that are able to give you – a child of God – peace when those around you are without it.

A smile on your face when trouble abounds indicates you are being reinforced from the inside so that outside pressure does not destroy you. If God is mindful to even take care of little sparrows, we must remember that we are His children and He loves us way more than them. His Son, Jesus Christ, died for us – not sparrows.

Because of His care for us, Jesus said: “Fear not therefore.” He has promised we could have His peace – if we focus on Him and His many promises: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

If you are stressed out about the things happening around us, why not go to Him now and pray about it? Then, stay in your Bible every day and ask Him to make today peaceful in your heart that you might honor Him.

Thank God for Prayer Promises https://101info.org/thank-god-for-prayer-promises/ https://101info.org/thank-god-for-prayer-promises/#respond Wed, 19 Jan 2022 13:15:04 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=1889 Read More »]]> The Bible offers many promises that God will answer prayer. He loves His children and enjoys meeting each of their needs. This relieves the stress that they might have which would distract them from serving Him.

God has promised to meet the needs of His children when they serve Him and seek to walk in righteousness. This is plainly seen in Matthew 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” It is also promised in Philippians 4:19: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

As believers, we tend to become anxious when two things occur:

  1. We get our eyes off of Him – like Peter walking on the water!
  2. We start to worry about our needs and do not take them to Him!

Anxiety and cares can be dealt with by bringing each of them to Him. He cares about you and wants to show you that He is more than capable of meeting your needs. Leaving matters in His hands relieves stress and enables you to walk in peace, according to Philippians 4:6,7: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Have you taken your burden to the Lord in prayer and left it there today?
