You can learn more about the Bible

One of the greatest blessings the born-again child of God can have is the joy that can be gained from the Word of God. One of the important benefits – among many others – is that it will enable you to gain a solid faith in God because you will know what to believe – and why you should believe it. Keep reading to find out how you can learn more about the Bible.

Until a believer knows what to believe in the Bible, it is possible to become confused about what the Bible teaches. This is how so many cults thrive – because people don’t really know exactly what to believe. The apostle Paul referred to this as being “tossed to and fro” in Ephesians 4:14:

“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.”

Other benefits of learning the Bible better including a better understanding of Bible truth, knowing how to interpret the Bible, and recognizing error when you are confronted with it. You will also be able to apply the Bible correctly to your life, including knowing a Bible verse about hope, a Bible verse about prayer, Scriptures about healing, a Bible verse about strength, etc.

God also wants every believer to study and know the Bible. In II Timothy 2:15, God tells us to: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Not only will you be able to understand Jesus Christ and God better, you will also understand God’s will better, which will enable you to serve God better.

One way that you can get a better understanding of the Bible is to take a Bible course offered by me – Evangelist Michael Valles. In order to help Christians get established in the faith, I have written a 20-lesson Bible course that covers 20 key topics in the Bible. These topics cover the primary teachings (Bible doctrine) of the Bible along with several lessons on things you need to know for victorious Christian living. Each lesson is four pages and can easily be answered by looking up the answers in the references given.

You can learn more about how to get this course by following this link: Foundation Steps Course.

Other Christian books and Bible courses will also be available soon.

The Unchangeable God https://101info.org/the-unchangeable-god/ https://101info.org/the-unchangeable-god/#respond Sat, 10 Jul 2021 14:09:59 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=79 Read More »]]> Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”

Today I want to start a series of posts about the unchangeableness of God – often referred to as the immutability of God. The fact that He does not change can be very beneficial – but very troublesome – depending on which side of the fence you are on.

In the above verse, God makes it clear in the Bible that He does not change. This enables those that depend on Him to have confidence in His Word, the Bible, and in His character.

The first thing to know about Him is that His holiness never changes. Holiness is what makes Him completely intolerable of and separate from sin – and even incapable of sin. He hated it in Moses’ day and He hates it just as much now. This means that it is still true that “the wages of sin is death…” in Hell (Ro. 6:23).

The second thing is that His Word will never change. What He has declared to be true in the Bible – is true today and it will be true forever:

  • 33:11 “The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.”
  • 19:21 “There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.”

One more thing that needs mentioning is that His power never changes. This is very difficult to imagine because everything known to man ages and grows weaker with time. Not God. This is seen in Isaiah 40:28:

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.”

Because He does not change, it is absolutely necessary to learn more about Him and His expectations of us. This means that it is very important to know what He says about life, sin, salvation, Hell, Heaven, forgiveness, rewards, and more. Are you sure that you know Him and are ready to meet Him?

Watching children grow is a blessing

Parents love to watch their little children grow, be healthy, and get, stronger, and more mature. They expect their child to grow and eventually become a mature adult that can take care of themselves and act responsibly.

The Apostle Peter also loved to see believers grow and become stronger and stronger in the Lord. In the text verse above, he compares a human infant to a growing, young Christian. Both must have a sufficient daily diet of food for growth. The believer, however, can only get spiritual food from the Word of God, which is why strong believers need it, too.

Without a regular diet of the right kind, both types of children will only become a disappointment and their full potential will not be achieved. Though saved, without a daily feeding on the Word, the child of God will never become a mature child of God. Their spiritual growth will be stunted.

After being saved, it is God’s will that every true Christian grow strong in Christ. This means growing in your understanding of the Bible, becoming knowledgeable of how to apply and use the Word in daily life, becoming more like Christ, and eventually becoming able to teach others. It also is a key to receiving God’s blessings in your life and home.

A strong example of good feeding on the Word can be seen in the first-century Christians. Immediately after they were saved, they had an intense hunger for the Word, according to Acts 2. They enjoyed listening to the teaching and preaching of the Word every day. This resulted in fast and strong growth spiritually – and God greatly blessed the early church for it.

Believers of any age will find that learning more of the Word has a lot of benefits to offer. If you are saved, you have already discovered that “the Lord is gracious” (I Pe. 2:3). You already know that He is good and that He has shown you it is beneficial to learn more about Him. He is willing to guide, bless, and help you grow strong in Him. I also want to help you grow strong spiritually and be a blessing to you. The blessing starts with gaining more Bible knowledge.

Tomorrow, I will tell you how to get started.
