It is still true that a tree is known by its fruit. You know that it is an apple tree when you see apples on it. An apple tree is supposed to produce apples.

In the same way, Jesus said that a Christian can be known by their fruit. As I look around, I see many professing believers that have no fruit. They are barren – without fruit that glorifies God.

In the text verse for today, David did not want to stay in a barren place. He hated it – but he also knew the remedy. He would seek the Lord at the start of the day. This is an important key to victory and fruitfulness in the Christian life.

David hungered to see God work. He wanted to see God’s power in his life – and he was determined to have that power in his life so that he could bear fruit to God’s glory.

Fruitfulness in the lives of others is the result of God’s blessing. He gives it through the working of the Holy Spirit. The believer must be in tune with God to bear fruit – to win people to Christ.

In Bible study and prayer, David saw God’s power. You can see it too in the same way. After being reminded of what God can do – you should want it in your life.

Are you in the place where you can see and obtain God’s power and blessing in your life?
