forgive – Bible Truth For Today https://101info.org Brother Mike Valles Wed, 06 May 2026 03:48:31 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9.4 192660109 The Only Peace Worth Having https://101info.org/2026/05/06/the-only-peace-worth-having/ https://101info.org/2026/05/06/the-only-peace-worth-having/#respond Wed, 06 May 2026 11:30:00 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=263 Read More »]]> John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

There is a lot of talk about peace these days, but much of it is just talk. The primary problem with the peace this world offers is that it is only external. In spite of the talk, wars and fighting continue. Of course, peace between nations and neighbors is highly desirable.

Even with external peace, the soul is often in a condition of unrest – because of sin and doubtfulness about the eternal future. When the Lord Jesus gives peace, it eliminates the fear of eternal judgment, because He promises and gives eternal life. It also eliminates the feeling of guilt of past sin, because He takes it away – never to be seen by God again.

Some religions offer some type of peace – but it is a deception. What good is it if your mind is at a temporal peace but you still go to Hell because your sins are not forgiven? That kind of peace may offer a temporary salve of the conscience – but sin is not erased. Consider this verse: Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts. 3:19). This verse promises that if you will turn from sin in your heart to God and ask Him to save and forgive you because of what Jesus did for you on the Cross, He will blot out (erase) your sins. This can give you peace with God.

Once the sin issue has been taken care of, then the promise of the above verse in John can apply to you. You will be able to have peace beyond anything this world offers – even being calm in difficult situations. This kind of peace is the peace of God.

Do you have this kind of peace today?

Our Forgiving God https://101info.org/2026/04/13/our-forgiving-god/ https://101info.org/2026/04/13/our-forgiving-god/#respond Mon, 13 Apr 2026 11:30:00 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=239 Read More »]]> Psalm 130:3-5 “If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.”

God is a God of forgiveness. He loves to forgive those who come to Him and seek it. If He was not forgiving, no human would ever be accepted by Him for all of us are sinners: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

To show how much He is willing to forgive, and to show the greatness of His love, His own Son went to Calvary for us. He is willing to forgive and forget our sin if we show repentance. Repentance is simply having a change of mind toward sin and being willing to go God’s way. The type of sin does not matter.

The above verse says that God will do this “that thou mayest be feared.” This means respected and obeyed. If He were harsh and unforgiving, we could not love Him – because our failures would only bring judgment and damnation – “who shall stand?”

Sometimes, after being forgiven, we need to wait for His blessing and felt presence. If there is sin between you and God, remember His promise: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9).

Christian, if you need to restore your relationship with the King of kings, come to Him today and get the forgiveness you need, and enjoy the fellowship with Him again. Wait no longer.

Salvation Comes Through Believing https://101info.org/2025/03/08/salvation-comes-through-believing/ https://101info.org/2025/03/08/salvation-comes-through-believing/#respond Sat, 08 Mar 2025 12:30:00 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=42 Read More »]]> John 3:18 “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

God wanted to make salvation available to all people. Because “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23), there had to be a sacrifice – but it could not have any sin of their own.

Only one Person could possibly qualify. God Himself came to our sinful and humble world. Jesus was that Sacrifice. To do so, He sent His Son to pay the cost for everyone’s sins, which He did on the Cross.

According to the above verse – and many others in the Bible – there is no one beyond being savable. The verse makes it clear that only believing on Jesus – that He paid your sin debt – and accepting that Gift for your personal salvation, is all that is needed for salvation.

As humans, we are more ready to forgive someone if they show some sincerity in their confession, along with an attitude of not committing the same offence again. God is the same way. Sin is the breaking of His law. When you are sorry for doing so, and want to please Him, He will forgive you – no matter how sinful your past has been.

The joy of believing on Jesus Christ to be your Savior is found in the first part of the verse: “He that believeth on him is not condemned.” Afterward, He is quite capable of helping you serve Him the way He wants.

What is preventing you from asking Him to save you from sin and Hell (condemnation) right now? Did you notice that the only sin that sends you to Hell because of your sin is not believing on Christ to be your Savior?
