Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

When the Lord Jesus Christ forgives someone – it is forever. If the first time that Jesus died was not sufficient to save forever, then Christ would have to die again – which will never happen. This is Paul’s argument in Hebrews 6

Further forgiveness for the purpose of salvation is unnecessary because 100 percent of the price of your salvation has already been paid – leaving you to pay zero percent. When Jesus died on the Cross, He said three most powerful words: “It is finished.” In other words, no more needs to be paid and redemption is complete. The forgiven sinner is free forever from the penalty of sin the moment he or she puts trust in Christ for salvation.

Thank God that Jesus did not pay for half of our redemption and then leave half of it for you to pay. If that were true then no one would ever get to Heaven. You would have to pay for your sins in Hell forever because “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). This would make salvation by works – which it is not, according to Ephesians 2:8,9: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

If someone offers you a gift – you merely accept it and say thank you. You do not reach into your wallet and pay for it. If so – it is no longer a gift.

Salvation is a gift and those who truly have it will show God thanks by living for Him. God does not want you to try to earn or pay for the gift of salvation – that is a mockery to God.

Instead, yield yourselves unto God and serve Him. He will give you joy, victory, and power to do so. Yes, the Devil will not it like because you have knowingly or unknowingly served him so long – but he never really liked you or was honest with you anyway! God is greater and much more powerful than the Devil and his demons! Praise God for this!

Besides that, if you had to earn part of your salvation, or try to keep yourself saved – what joy is there in that? That would lead to fear and not confidence or faith in Christ. The truth is that it is Christ that keeps us day by day and He is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy (Jude 24). Did you notice Who is doing the keeping in this verse?

The Forever Settled Word of God https://101info.org/the-forever-settled-word-of-god/ https://101info.org/the-forever-settled-word-of-god/#respond Fri, 07 Jan 2022 13:15:28 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=1741 Read More »]]> Psalm 119:89 “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”

A little at a time, God revealed portions of His Book to men who would accurately record exactly what God wanted to be written. It took over 1,600 years to complete it.

  1. The Source of the Word – the Omniscient God

Because God knows everything (omniscient), He knew that His Book the Bible would be accurate for all time. There would never be a need to edit or amend anything. He also knows what happened at the beginning of time and just as certainly – at the end of time (Bible prophecy).

  1. The Protector of the Word – the Omnipotent God

God has kept His Word pure (preserved) so that the reader can have faith in what it says. Several times in the Bible, God tells the reader not to alter what He said. There is an extreme penalty for those who tamper with God’s Book – they will have their name taken out of the Book of Life – and more! In Revelation 22:18,19, God warns the reader that: “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

Many groups and individuals are trying to publish their own version of the Bible. Some of them are trying to make money from it and others are trying to use their version to promote an agenda. While they have the right to do so (on earth), they cannot expect God to show mercy on them when they stand before Him. His warning is very clear! He will not alter what He promised!

Personally, I believe the King James Version of the Bible is the most accurate for today. God has used this version tremendously through the years and continues to do so. Other versions have altered portions of Scripture in places to change the meaning – even though some may claim otherwise.

  1. The Record of the Word – it is “in Heaven”

No matter what people say about His Book, God has a permanent record of it “in Heaven.” You can be sure that no one could ever alter it there. This means that whoever wants to believe something other than the plain teaching of the Bible will only find that their argument at the Judgment Bar of God will be useless! This makes it imperative that everyone know what the Bible really teaches by studying it for themselves.

  1. The Confidence Needed in the Word – trust it!

The Bible tells us that God cannot lie and He is not a deceiver. He wants everyone to come to the “knowledge of the truth” in His Word: “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth” (I Timothy 2:4). This means He wants you as a believer to trust His Word and put confidence in His many promises to help you live for Him day by day.

If you are not a believer, He desires that you trust His plain promises to save you if you will believe on Christ for your salvation. Turn from your sin and call on Him now to save you. He has promised that He will never turn anyone away who is serious about salvation through Christ: “him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37).
