evil – Bible Truth for Today https://101info.org Brother Mike Valles Sun, 01 Sep 2024 00:35:53 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.6.2 192660109 The Signs of His Coming https://101info.org/the-signs-of-his-coming/ https://101info.org/the-signs-of-his-coming/#respond Sun, 01 Sep 2024 00:35:53 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=17532 Read More »]]> Luke 17:26 “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.”

Many Christians believe that the things we are seeing in our world today are “signs” that Christ is coming soon. One of the reasons for this belief is the above verse.

There is no doubt that some of the things that were considered normal in Noah’s day are happening now. However, most likely, this is only a taste of what will happen. It is only the beginning.

The truth is that this verse refers to the Second Coming of Christ and not to the Rapture. Right now, the Holy Spirit is still restraining much sin in the world. After the Anti-christ comes, things will be different. People will not have restraints – anything goes and the Anti-christ will encourage it. It will be much more evil than it is today.

Christians must remember that the Rapture is imminent. That means it could happen at any moment. There are no Biblical “signs” for the Rapture. As we look around, we can see things lining up for the events of the Tribulation, and we can thank God for His mercy that He will not let us go through it.

In the meantime, our Lord expects us to be busy helping Him bring in the harvest. Are you one of His helpers in these last days?

Right Thinking about Tomorrow https://101info.org/right-thinking-about-tomorrow/ https://101info.org/right-thinking-about-tomorrow/#respond Tue, 28 Mar 2023 11:30:08 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=7342 Read More »]]> Matthew 6:34 “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

The above verse is very interesting – and one that every believer would do well to take heed to.

The last phrase of the verse says: “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” A lot could be said just on this one phrase.

It means that we will face enough evil tomorrow to potentially get our eyes off the Lord Jesus Christ and on to the world. It is not where our eyes and heart should be. Watching the world can easily bring anxiety and doubt.

People that are on the Internet (or TV) a lot face temptations often. Certainly, they do not promote a desire to be godly and live for Christ.

How every believer needs to be careful to avoid focusing on tomorrow’s needs or plans so much that we miss doing God’s perfect will today. Remember that He alone is the Author of the “abundant life.”

He also is the only One that can give the peace that passes the understanding.

How can we keep our eyes on Him? Two ways will help:

  1. Read the Bible everyday – preferably in the morning to start with your mind on Him.
  2. Pray through the day and honor Him with a godly life.

Are your eyes on Him and His will for you today?

God is Unchanging in His Compassion for His Children (Pt. I) https://101info.org/god-is-unchanging-in-his-compassion-for-his-children-pt-i/ https://101info.org/god-is-unchanging-in-his-compassion-for-his-children-pt-i/#respond Thu, 05 Aug 2021 12:22:52 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=115 Read More »]]> Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”

On occasion, I meet people who are bitter against God. Something happened at some time that they thought did not fit into their idea of what God ought to be doing for them.

No doubt, there is a lot of evil in this world. Some of it is horrible. Remember, though, that the source of evil is Satan – not God. He is holy, and we are told, in James 1:12: “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.”

Before going further, it needs to be said that some things that occur in life are without explanation. Some evil things happen in the life of the saved and of the unsaved. It is impossible to fully know all of God’s reasons for doing some things – or at least permitting them. There are also times when God will chasten a disobedient child.

For those who are saved, the believer can be assured that everything that happens will ultimately work out for good and God’s glory. It includes trouble and things often considered evil, such as cancer, bad health, poverty, crime, death of loved ones, and more. God has promised that if you are serving Him according to the Bible, that:  all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Ro. 8:28).

The above verse (Ro. 8:28) does not indicate a time frame. Sometimes, the good may not be seen for a long time. In some cases, the ultimate good will only be received in glory – but it will come – He is always faithful and does not change. God also tells us, in Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Have you thanked God for allowing the things that come into your life when you are serving Him? Can you trust Him? Will you?
