Christian victory is often made easier when you have regular fellowship with other believers who are living for God. It is true that people normally hang out with people who are like-minded – birds of a feather flock together.

The above verse states that in a fight two are better than one. The cord illustration is a powerful one. If one strand of cord can hold 10 pounds, it is a scientific principle that two strands of the same size cord intertwined can hold 100 pounds. When you add a third cord of the same size and intertwine it with the other two, it can now hold 1,000 pounds.

When believers fellowship with other believers in church, they can pray with and for each other. This strengthens and helps each of them to have better victory and can help the weaker brother or sister overcome particular sins.

This principle reveals why going to church faithfully is so important. Hearing of the Word and singing the songs strengthens the heart and mind to serve God. Discouraged people can find hope and help in the services and message.

There is no substitute for the local church. During Covid, many professing Christians dropped out of church – possibly because they ceased to have in-person fellowship with other believers.

Victory comes from doing things God’s way. He provided the local church and pastors and teachers to strengthen the Body of Christ, along with the Holy Spirit and His Word. Even though you can watch a service on the Internet, it does not produce the same results as being there. Your presence could be a blessing to someone else – and your absence may prevent someone from coming back.
