death – Bible Truth For Today https://101info.org Brother Mike Valles Sat, 19 Apr 2025 01:45:50 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.8.1 192660109 They Crucified Him https://101info.org/2025/04/18/they-crucified-him/ https://101info.org/2025/04/18/they-crucified-him/#respond Sat, 19 Apr 2025 00:57:34 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=116 Read More »]]> Matthew 27:35 “And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.”

It needs to be remembered on this Good Friday, that the crucifixion was not an accident or unforeseen event in God’s plan. It was the main part of it.

To the Jews, the Scriptures seemed to present two irreconcilable views of the Savior (Messiah). One pictured Him as a reigning King Who would reign forever, the other picture revealed One Who would suffer and die.

Even though Jesus told His disciples multiple times that it would happen, it did not fit with their understanding of the coming of Christ. This resulted in great disillusionment when it happened. The day came when it was fulfilled. Jesus was put on a Cross between two thieves – as it was prophesied hundreds of years before.

Even the details about His clothes were fulfilled and they cast lots (dice) for His clothes (Psalm 22:18). It was also prophesied that they would give Him gall and vinegar to drink (Psalm 69:21).

Jesus’ crucifixion was the focal point of God’s redemption of the human race. He died to take our place so that no one must go to Hell. Since the “wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23), Jesus died to take our place – the Spotless One for the guilty.

By believing on His death as your Substitute and His resurrection, you can be saved. Call on Him today to forgive and save you. Do not wait, for time is limited.

Salvation and the Great Expectation https://101info.org/2025/03/20/salvation-and-the-great-expectation/ https://101info.org/2025/03/20/salvation-and-the-great-expectation/#respond Thu, 20 Mar 2025 11:30:00 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=70 Read More »]]> Hebrews 9:28 “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”

This is a powerful verse, along with the two verses before it. In these verses, Paul deals with the argument about people thinking that you can lose your salvation.

In verse 26, he points out that if Christ’s death on the cross was not sufficient to guarantee you a place in Heaven, then Jesus would have to die more than once. Of course, that is not going to happen. God knew what is necessary to get us to Heaven

The truth is, if it depended on us to ensure our salvation – none of us would be saved. Also, we would not need a Savior, either. We are all still sinners, even though saved. Hopefully, as you grow in Christ, you should be sinning less and less.

Among Jesus’ last words on the Cross, He said: “It is finished!” This simple phrase meant that our redemption had been accomplished once we merely believe on what He did for us. Nothing needs to be added to it, and nothing can be added to God’s perfect redemption. The only qualification for salvation is found in Acts 16:31: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

Because of what Jesus did for us, we can know that we have eternal life. In simple faith, those looking to go to Heaven one day by trusting Jesus alone, will find that when He comes back – He will not have a record of any of our sins since salvation with Him – thus guaranteeing our salvation.
