This morning I was once again reminded of God’s many blessings to His children. I love to remind myself of them every day and thank Him for them. This passage is especially helpful in recalling them. Here is a look at these verses.

“Who forgiveth all thine iniquities” – The first and greatest blessing anyone could have is the forgiveness of sins and salvation. Without His mercy and forgiveness no one could ever go to Heaven. Thank God for the work of Christ for us on the Cross Who paid all of our debt so we could go free by simple faith in what He did for us.

“who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction” – The greatest disease of every human is sin. It is incurable and it is why all must die. Christ has healed us of this malady – that is, from the penalty of sin, which is the second death – which is Hell. He did so by giving us His righteousness and making us new creatures. At the same time, He has also enabled us though Him to have power over sin when we look to Him for it.

“who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies” – As we walk close to Him, we can see His blessings and workings in our lives. He shows us His mercy toward us in His protection, His deliverance, His nearness in relationship and fellowship – the relationship with Him truly grows sweeter every day!

“Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things” – It is God that gives us the things we enjoy every day. Truly, when we go to the store in America we find an incredible amount of choices of foods – basic and special. The best food, though, comes from His Word – since we cannot live by bread alone.

“so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s” – After we leave our daily cares with Him and seek to serve Him like He desires, it affects how we look in older years. People that are often stressed, or that abuse their bodies with substance abuse, look older than they really are (although some genes may play a part in that). After we cast all our cares on Him, He removes the stress and gives us inner peace – beyond anything that the world can give. Peace in the heart (Isaiah 26:3) produces calmness and a more youthful appearance.

One more way that we show our thanks is to obey Him. If we love Him, His commandments are not a problem. Going to church is one of those commandments (Hebrews 10:25). Will you be in church tomorrow?

Do you have these kinds of blessings? If so, have you thanked God for them? He would love to hear you talk to Him today and thank Him for the many – countless blessings He gives us every day.

Time for the Giving of Thanks https://101info.org/time-for-the-giving-of-thanks/ https://101info.org/time-for-the-giving-of-thanks/#respond Tue, 23 Nov 2021 13:00:26 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=946 Read More »]]> Psalm 100:4 “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”

At this time of year, most people in America are going to talk about Thanksgiving. It certainly is a holiday well-celebrated and enjoyed – usually with family and loved ones – and lots to eat.

When thinking about this time of year and this special holiday, it makes me wonder just how much thanks is actually being given to God – Who is the One that has given us so much.

Many churches will have special Thanksgiving services this week.

As I think about it, there could be no blessings without God. He is the Source of every one of them – even if they are delivered to us through human hands. He makes it possible to have and to give.

How could it be that anyone should be unthankful to the One that freely gives us so much? He enjoys being recognized as the One Who gives us our daily food and other benefits.

He has also given us religious freedom in this country. Truly, we can say with the Psalmist: “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Ps. 103:2).

When praised for what He does, He often is glad to continue to bless. When ignored or forgotten, He could – and perhaps should – rightfully remove those blessings.

May God help each believer to truly be thankful to Him for all He has provided and done for us. Most importantly, that must include the Sacrifice of His Son to give us salvation. May we never forget it and take time especially this week to thank Him for His kindness and mercy in giving us such an undeserved Gift!

Colossians 2:7 “Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”

Some Benefits of Going to Church Regularly https://101info.org/some-benefits-of-going-to-church-regularly/ https://101info.org/some-benefits-of-going-to-church-regularly/#respond Sun, 26 Sep 2021 12:00:38 +0000 https://101info.org/?p=234 Read More »]]> Psalm 84:4 “Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.”

Personally, over the many years that I have been a Christian (I was saved at the age of 6), I have found that there is no substitute for going to church. Of course, not just any church – but one that teaches the Bible accurately and plainly and where they seek to live what they preach.

Since I have had the privilege of having been in hundreds of churches, I have found that there certainly is a difference between them. Some have been a blessing to me and my family and others were not.

One of the greatest blessings is to be able to meet with other believers that are like-minded. If the people love the Lord, they will also be friendly. This creates an instant fellowship with other believers in the church. It does not take long to learn whether or not the Lord is there and will bless the services. .

If things have not been going well, and I am feeling a little under the weather – or discouraged (yes, preachers can feel that way sometimes, too) – the singing to the Lord and the teaching and preaching are often refreshing. Of course, I am also aware that when I am preaching that others need something in the message that will be an encouragement and blessing to them to keep on serving the Lord.

Christians that attend church and meet with other believers can also find friends that will help and encourage them. It will also help you understand the Bible better. They can also pray with you and help you to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.

Notice that the text verse above says that those that “dwell in thy house” will be those that keep on praising God. I have noticed a long time ago that the happiest Christians are those that regularly (“dwell”) go to church – three times a week. These believers, the text verse declares, are the “blessed” ones – which means the happy ones. Not many believers out of church are happy and living a victorious life.

David said, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD” (Ps. 122:1). Have you discovered these benefits while attending the church’s worship services? If not, why not try a Baptist church – one that preaches the Bible plainly?
