Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?”

There are plenty of religions floating around the world today. People can just about pick and choose any type of religion they want. This provides a lot of flexibility, depending on what you are looking for.

The potential problem with this is that religion may not get you where you want to go in the end – Heaven. Many people are just going along with the flow but have no assurance of any kind that what they believe will do the job of getting them into the pearly gates. Isn’t it time you made sure – instead of merely guessing?

The One Book that reveals how to go to Heaven is the Bible. Although many people are of the opinion that “no one can be sure,” it makes me wonder if they ever read it. The truth is that you not only can be sure of salvation, but God wants you to be sure.

The key to being sure is to believe plainly what God said. Here are His words – found in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

God said that if anyone would believe in His Son – Jesus Christ (not a religion and not anyone else), he will “not perish” (go to Hell), and He will give that person “everlasting life.” It cannot be much plainer than that.

To believe in Christ means to turn from your sin to Christ for salvation and to ask Him to save you from Hell – which is deserved. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

Have you personally called on Christ to forgive and save you? If not, why not do it right now and be sure – based on the Bible – not some empty religion?
