Making Sure of the Right Path to Heaven

God's Promises Are Ever Faithful
God’s Promises Are Ever Faithful

Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

The Word of God tells us that it is possible to be living in such a way that may seem right to that individual, but it will not get them to the right desired eternal destination. This is what happens when someone uses their own intellect to guide them, and not God’s Word – which He gave us for that purpose.

For other people who may not think that making a decision about Christ and salvation needs to be made right away, it only needs to be said that you cannot live your life going the wrong way and expect to end up at the right destination. It will not work, and none of us knows when we will enter eternity.

The Bible makes the way of eternal life very clear to those who will carefully read it and desire to know its truth. It also answers most questions about life and eternity. I also make it very plain on this website.

As far as going to Heaven is concerned, the Bible tells us that: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). The good thing is that this beloved verse is not difficult to understand. It means what it says: God loved the human race; He saw our dilemma because of our sin; He sent His Son to die for us and pay our sin-debt; and now if you believe on Christ for your salvation – He will give you eternal life.

The Bible verse for today tells us that in spite of its easy message, it is still easy to be deceived. Deceit is one of Satan’s favorite tools. This is extremely dangerous when it comes to Heaven or Hell. You need to make sure. Leave the guessing games to the gamblers, but don’t gamble with your soul. There is no second chance. No replay on life.

How can you be saved and know for sure? You must know what the Bible says. As I explain the Scriptures to you, you can read for yourself that I am not twisting them, but am telling you the way it is.

I want to offer you an eBook for free that I think will be helpful. In it, I talk about a group of religious leaders in Jesus’ day who were deceived. They thought they had the truth, but Christ showed them differently.

The eBook is entitled: “The Dangers of Bible Ignorance.” Read it with an open mind. Remember that Christ said, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). By this, He meant that the truth of salvation will set you free from the guilt of sin, from the penalty of sin, and from the doubt of your eternal destination.

In the world of religion, some religious leaders claim that there are many different ways to get to Heaven. This is certainly apt to leave many people confused – and it will certainly lead many of them astray.

Although there are older religious books, the Bible alone offers not only a reasonable explanation for our existence, but it also provides a clear and sure way to get to Heaven. That way is also unique, and it stands in clear contrast to what the majority of the other religions teach.

My new eBook, The Dangers of Bible Ignorance, does not present a new message, but seeks to make very plain what the Bible reveals from cover to cover about going to Heaven. Most people do not understand it, including many church-goers.

Three of the chapters in this eBook are:

  • Are Religious Leaders Always Right?
  • Close to the Truth – But Still Lost!
  • Knowing Bible Truth – But Not Changed By It

Those who do understand the message of the Bible know where they are going – and that knowledge is not based on their works, good deeds, or even church membership. Yes, they have assurance of salvation, and it is what God wants you to have, too.

Even in America today, where many people claim to be religious, including many Christians, the message that has been preached for 2,000 years is still understood only by a minority. The greatest danger in not knowing the Bible’s message is that it has eternal consequences.

This eBook makes that message easy to understand and reveals what you must do about it. You must understand why it was necessary for Christ to die and know what you must do about it. Certainly the time to act on that message is now. You can learn now the truth that will set you free from doubt and destruction.

The message is for people everywhere. Jesus died for all people. Find out why it is important that people in America, China, Mexico, the Middle East, Russia, etc., need to know about Christ.

Bible Promise for the Day – Why There Is an Eternal Gospel

God's Promises Are Ever Faithful
God’s Promises Are Ever Faithful

I Peter 1:24,25 “For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.”

In these two verses, God compares people to the Word of God. People are only going to be here for a short time – and then they will be gone from this planet. Even those with the most glory or fame are still not here longer than others, although their memory or works may be remembered for some time. Certainly this is a good reason why believers ought to make sure that what they do is worthwhile, largely because they will be rewarded accordingly.

The primary point of this text, though, is the durability of God’s Word in comparison to our short lives. God honors His Word and He tells us that it will endure forever. This means its Gospel message cannot change and its message will never need an upgrade! The all-knowing God made it perfect from the start and it is complete in its message, in its perfection, and in its ability to save. Now, it is up to believers everywhere to know it, believe it, and get the message out to those who need it.

As believers, we do not need a new Gospel, and we certainly do not need to dress it up. It still is “the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16). We do, however, need God’s power to proclaim it as we should – and He is more than willing to give it to those who will do His perfect will.

The Gospel is eternal, because as long as there are lost people, there is still a need for the same grand old message that makes sinners into sons of God!

Bible Promise for the Day – Receiving a Full Reward

God's Promises Are Ever Faithful
God’s Promises Are Ever Faithful

Hebrews 10:35,36 “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”

In this verse, the Apostle Paul talks about the possibility of losing rewards. In the Bible, salvation is never considered a reward for believers – that comes by faith in Christ.

Rewards are given for faithful service and there are several of them. They include crowns and positions of authority. While many people are focused on being able to go to Heaven because of Christ, many do not realize that there are rewards that can be obtained, too. Because many are not working for them, they are apt to lose out.

Paul indicates that a believer needs to be careful to maintain faith, and continue living for God with their whole life. He tells the believer to be patient. Things may not always be grand and wonderful, some hardships will come. But, don’t turn back or turn aside, and you can receive a full reward. When you do, you will instantly discover that it was worth it.

You will also discover that God will help you every step of the way. It will be a challenge, but you can earn a full reward. You will need to start that journey toward a full reward by making a commitment to serve Christ from now on, and start immediately following the Word of God.

Bible Promise for the Day – Confession and the Promise of Salvation

God's Promises Are Ever Faithful
God’s Promises Are Ever Faithful

Romans 10:9,10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

In the book of Romans, Paul the Apostle makes a lot of spiritual truth very clear. He talks much about salvation in the book, and reveals why Christ is the key to our salvation.

The two verses for our text today reveal a short summary of that salvation that God so freely offers to us. You will probably notice how very simple it really is. Some church groups make it much more complex – but that is distorting the truth of God’s Word.

The first word is the one that some religious groups distort so badly. It is the word “confess,” and it simply means “to admit.” This confession is not to be made to men (no matter what their title or position is), but is made directly to God in prayer. The Bible tells us that: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1Ti 2:5).

  1. A New Lord

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus.”

What this first part of the verse is saying is that you must admit that Jesus Christ is Lord to you, or, your new Boss. Before that time, you were simply your own boss – not God, and that is what sin is in its raw form. Now that you recognize your need of His salvation and forgiveness, salvation can occur by changing bosses of your life!

  1. A New Belief

“and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead.”

This part is just as important as the confession. In addition to recognizing Christ as Lord, you also need to recognize that God put His Son to death for your sins. He did it because there was no other way of salvation. Afterwards, God raised Him from the dead to give us assurance of two things:

  1. That Jesus was indeed the Son of God.
  2. That our sins were truly paid for. If they weren’t, Jesus would still be paying for them.

Note that belief is necessary for salvation. A baby does not believe anything. This kind of Bible belief can only take place after understanding what Jesus did for us on the Cross. It must be a voluntary belief, or faith.

  1. A New and Complete Salvation

The verse states that after you have confessed that you will now serve Christ, and that you understand He died for you, then you are saved. Please note this is not just my interpretation – read it again for yourself. It is not me, a man, saying you are saved, but God Who wrote these verses.

Notice also that the verse states that “thou shalt be saved.” That is pretty clear. Not maybe will be saved; or can hope to be saved, but you shall be saved. This also implies you cannot lose it, like some falsely say. Eternal life can be yours because of what Christ did for you.

The second verse, verse 10, repeats it, so that the reader can be sure to understand what is being said. Belief and confession will save you today, if you call on Him in prayer – from right where you are now.

I’d like to hear from some of you today. If you are saved and reading this, why not let me know by making a comment. Comments are hidden, so no one will see it but me.

Bible Promise for the Day – Faith Is the Key to Salvation

God's Promises Are Ever Faithful
God’s Promises Are Ever Faithful

John 3:18 “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

This verse makes it plain that whether or not an individual is condemned to Hell depends on belief, or faith. Let me point out now that the word “faith” in this verse does not refer to the doctrinal points of what you hold to, as in a creed.

Many people today have this kind of “faith,” but it is not the kind of faith that saves from Hell. In fact, the Bible tells us that the devils believe, too, but you can be sure that they will not escape the wrath of God in Hell! The devils believe because they were at one time in Heaven. They knew God and dwelt with Him. They have no doubt about His existence or power. Yes, you can be sure that they have those facts straight, and they even tremble over that knowledge: “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble” (James 2:19).

God is much more interested in what you do about those facts about Him and about His Son, Jesus Christ. If your “knowledge” does not cause you to change your ways, then what you call “faith” won’t do you any more good than what the devils know about God.

When Christ first started preaching, His message was to declare: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15). This word “repent” means to change your mind about sin. Whereas you loved it before, hate it now, because it is sending you to Hell. Turn from it and tell God you are sorry for it.

After a child learns what “hot” means, they understand that they should not touch a “hot” stove. They believed it, and it altered their actions. This is the way saving faith works. Once you understand sin is sending you to Hell, it is time to not touch it anymore.

Christ needs to be the object of your faith, and not your works, or what you can do to save yourself. He died for your sins and now wants you to trust (believe) in Him alone for salvation. There is no other way to Heaven. Call on Him in prayer for forgiveness and salvation. Do it today. Make sure you have genuine faith in Christ, and are not merely trusting in a set of facts about Christ.

Notice again what the verse for today declares: “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Hell is the price for a wrong kind of faith, but faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to save you leads to a real and eternal salvation.

Bible Promise for the Day – God’s Patience, the World, and Judgment

God's Promises Are Ever Faithful
God’s Promises Are Ever Faithful

II Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

God cares immensely for the people of this world. What is often misunderstood is the role that God has chosen to take in the affairs of mankind. Many think that God should take a more visibly active role in the problems of our world. However, this is not what He is most interested in.

Instead, He is more interested in helping people to get right with Him and to restore a relationship with Him that was broken by sin. Indifference to God and His claims on peoples’ lives are evidence that there is a problem.

Trouble in our world causes people to seek God because their world, whether personal or on a national scale, is shaken. This happened very noticeably when 911 occurred. After that, churches in America were suddenly filled. Once again, however, God must send trouble to disrupt lives so they come back to Him.

The above Bible verse indicates that some people mistakenly think that God either does not exist or does not care about life on planet earth because He seems distant or inactive. Although He has promised to come and straighten out our world, He seems to be taking a long time to do it, they say.

Again, as the verse indicates, they are sadly mistaken. The reason he waits is so that they, and more people, may be saved from Hell and destruction. He does not want to cast them or anyone into Hell, but sin cannot be allowed into Heaven. He has promised a righteous judgment. He is giving them time to repent (turn from sin), and to trust Christ to be their Savior.

Although Christ appears to be patient today, He will not wait for you forever. If you are not saved, the Bible tells us, in II Corinthians 6:2, that now is the best time: “(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)” Won’t you call on Him today for salvation, and have the matter settled forever? There is no need to wait – do it now and ask Him to forgive you, change you so you can do His will, and to save you from Hell. He will do it, according to His promise.
